From Ahmad Ibrahim, Gusau
The Executive Secretary of Zamfara State Primary Health Care Board (PHCB), Dr. Tukur Isma’il Gusau, has emphasised the need for all hands to be on deck towards enhancing health care service delivery, especially in semi-urban areas.
The medical doctor made the statement recently in an interview with The Triumph in Gusau, the state capital. He also stressed on maternal and child health and routine immunization intensification. Dr. Gusau lamented how the community is always faced by health challenges, especially in terms of polio vaccines, malnutrition and maternal mortality.
He appreciated the state governor, Dr. Bello Muhammad (Matawallen Maradun), through the board, the UNICEF and other stakeholders for their unflinching support and intervention with a view to having a healthy society.
On his part, the state Health Educator of the Ministry of Health, Alhaji Kabiru Danja Kuryar Madaro, who extensively spoke on the matter, said that the present administration’s commitment in rendering required health services to the people of the state is something to reckon with.
He said the rationale behind the outreach was to bring rural dwellers closer and have access to basic health programmes so as to enable them to enjoy free health care services.
The Health Educator said: “I will like to call on parents, care givers and the pregnant women to utilize this golden opportunity given to them by the government as these interventions are safe, effective and free. “I equally call on the general public to come out and get vaccinated.
The vaccine is available, it is safe, protective and free. “Let me also remind us of the Covid-19 protocols of hand washing, use of face mask, hand sanitizers and the social distancing.
“I wish, at this point, to acknowledge the efforts of His Excellency, the Executive Governor of Zamfara State, Dr. Bello Muhammad (Matawallen Maradun) for his commitment and support to the health and wellbeing of the good people of the state.”
