Zamfara bandit turbanning: Investigation committee requests N3.3m sitting allowance

The investigation committee recently inaugurated by Zamfara State governor, Alhaji Bello Muhammad Matawallen Maradun to look into issues regarding the conferment of traditional title on bandit leader, Adamu Alieru, has requested the sum of N3,293,800 as sitting allowances for its members.

The letter of request signed by the secretary to the committee, Musa Garba Bukkuyum, addressed to the Secretary to the State Government and entitled: ‘Application for Funds to Finance the Committee to Investigate all Issues Pertaining to the Conferment of a Traditional Tittle on Bandit, Adamu Aleiru.’

According to the letter, while the committee chairman will be entitled to N30,000 daily allowance for a period of 14 days, the five members and secretary would be entitled to N20,000 for the same period.

Similarly, while refreshment would gulp N500,000, N100,000 would be spent on stationeries and secretariat report and N200,000 for expenses on Bailliff and witnesses.

The two secretariat assistants would each receive N10,000 daily allowance for 14 days and miscellaneous expenses would gulp N435,800.00.

The committee said it started its assignment on Thursday, July 21 2022. “The above committee will be very grateful to you if the application for funds to finance its activities is granted,” the letter reads.
