Yilwatda emerges APC candidate in Plateau

The All Progressive Congress (APC) Gubernatorial Primary has declared the former INEC Resident Electoral Commissioner of Benue State Dr. Nentanwe Yilwatda has emerged as the winner.

Dr. Nentawe polled a total of 803 votes to beat three other aspirants,
nine aspirants were in the race, however before voting commenced , some of the aspirants sent in their letters of withdrawal from the contest.

According to the Chairman of the electoral Committee, Hon. Habu Ajiya, those who withdrew from the contest include, Sunday Garba Biggs, Dr. Sarpiya Danyaro, Sen. Hezekiah Dimka and Arch. Steve Fitka.

The Deputy Governor, Prof. Sonni Tyoden, Dr. Patrick Dakum and David Dimka had also staged a walk out just before voting commenced.

The results of APC Gubernatorial Primary from the Plateau State are as follow Dr. Nentawe Yilwada – 803, Dr. Patrick Dakum – 70, Dr. Fitka – 2, David Victor Dimka – 7,Hezekiah Dimka – 6, Garba Pwol SAN – 2, Danyaro Sarpiya – 4,Sonni Tyoden – 25, Sunday Biggs – 0
Invalid.

The APC Gubernatorial total number of delegates are 1035 while total votes cast 922 and there was no invalid votes.
