Yari can’t go near APC national convention ground –Yarima

Former governor of Zamfara State, Sen. Ahmad Sani Yarima has declared that during the forthcoming APC national convention this month, former governor of the state, Alhaji Abdulazeez Yari Abuba­kar cannot go near the party national convention ground because he is not its card-carrying member.

Yarima, who spoke exclusively to newsmen, said unless if Yari has ac­cepted the fact that Governor Ma­tawalle is in charge as the leader of the party in Zamfara and mobilize his supporters to get their APC member­ship card renewed, they could not be called APC members.

“You knew it very well, I attempted to seat down with Yari and arrange for the defection of Governor Bello Ma­tawalle to APC but he rejected that offer.

“Despite their resistance, Matawal­le’s defection was perfected.”

Yarima added: “During APC mem­bership renewal, we attempted to let him understand the membership re­newal exercise since it was a direc­tive from the national headquarters, but Yari blocked his supporters from getting their membership of the APC renewed.

“On the change of leadership, Yari fought it left right and center but even­tually the leadership of Tukur Danfu­lani emerged.

“They have gone to court and they are losing it, and they would continue to lose it.

“As you know, the president is in the full support of the defection of Bello Matawalle to APC, likewise the national leadership of the party.

“So, let Abdulazeez continue to challenge the decision he will surely lose the fight because he cannot suc­ceed over the decision of the president and national leadership of the party.

“When the time for the national convention come, Tukur Danfulani will hand over the list of the delegates from Zamfara and the name of Abdu­lazeez is not in that list likewise his supporters, so how can he participate in the national convention?”

Asked what would be the fate of the former Governor Yari who is among the contestants of the national chairman of the APC, Yarima said: “He is just wasting his time and his resources because by law, he is not a card-carrying member of the APC and by implications, he cannot even come near the venue of the national conven­tion.”
