A former Commissioner of Commerce and a chieftain of All Progressives Congress (APC) in Kano State, Alhaji Ahmad Rabi’u has extolled the contribution of private investors in providing job opportunities to the teeming populace of the nation.
Alhaji Rabi’u was speaking to The Triumph recently in Kano.
The business tycoon, who elaborated on the impact made by his company, Dala Inland Dry Port, on the economic development of the nation, described the role played by the citizens and private investors in giving boost to the economy of the country as enormous.
Rabi’u, the founder of the firm, said venturing into businesses by the nation’s citizens would be a plus to its economy, as they would initiate so many ideas on how to get rid of poverty in the society.
He stressed the need for wealthy individuals to invest more in the private sector, saying that the importance of doing so could not be over emphasized.
The APC chieftain explained that governments at various levels are doing their best on the promotion of private sector in the country.
According to him, people in Northern region, especially Kano, are now realizing the need for the sector. He then commended the effort of the state government, under the leadership of Governor Abdullahi Umar Ganduje, for supporting businesses to thrive in the state.
