…Pledges to cleanse civil service of bad deeds

Alhaji Usman Bala has assumed duty as the new Kano State Head of Service (HoS).
Alhaji Bala was appointed into the position by the state governor, Dr. Abdullahi Umar Ganduje, following the retirement of Binta Lawan Ahmed. He was born in 1966 in Tudun Wada area of Nassarawa Local Government.
He attended Police Primary School and proceeded to Kawaji Secondary School and to Bayero University, Kano where he obtained a Bachelor of Science in Political Science; Diploma in Public Administration and Masters in Business Administration.
Alhaji Bala is a member of National Institute of Policy and Strategic Studies, Kuru, Jos, Plateau State.
He was received by the cream of civil servants and ex-servicemen and women as well as friends and well wishers who were at the secretariat to show their solidarity and witness his first day in office.
In his remarks, Alhaji Bala thanked Governor Ganduje for the appointment. He promised not to let him down. He described Ganduje as the seasoned civil servant whom he learnt a lot from him at various working places.
He was lucky to serve under him, until now when he appointed him in the most senior civil servant position in the state, which he believed a lot is expected of him.
Part of the expectations of him from Governor Ganduje is to allow level playing ground for all civil servants and not to at any occasion deny worker any of his rights and privileges. Alhaji Bala, who was known for his openness, called on civil servants to work with honesty and dedication to serve as a payback to Governor Ganduje, who has been providing workers their due needs and would under the new leadership do more in ensuring service delivery.
The Head of Service promised to bring new initiatives, improve working condition, accept service delivery tips and cleanse civil service of bad deeds for the better of the state, urging workers to work with honesty.
He thanked all that gathered to join him to assume office, asking them to pray for him to successfully complete the assignment with full of achievements.
Alhaji Bala finally reminded the gathering that the present administration of Governor Ganduje has made the state envy of all, as many neighbouring states and those far are coming to the state to witness the way things are being done and how Governor Ganduje brought such development under such financial paucity and security challenges.
