Muslims have been urged to use the Ramadan period for best practices and showing love to their neighbors.
The Management Committee Chairman of Jos North Local Government Council, Shehu Bala Usman in a message to Muslim faithful on the commencement of Ramadan, urged them to intensify prayers for continued peace and unity of the area, the state and the country in general.
He reminded them that Ramadan is one of the five pillars of Islam, urging the faithful to accord it all the necessary attention by being proactive in decisions and actions that would ensure their full participation in the fast.
According to him, sacrifice and increased prayers are important and critical at this time when the world is fighting hard to contain the vicious corona virus pandemic.
The chairman further called on Muslims in the area to use the period to renew their commitment and virtues of love and peace as taught by Prophet Muhammad, peace be upon him and wish all Muslims Ramadan Kareem, with love and grace on behalf of the government and people of the area
