Thugs believed to be loyal to the All Progressive Congress (APC) in Kazaure area have allegedly assaulted Senator Danladi Abdullahi Sankara, Senator representing Jigawa Northwest at the National Assembly.
The Senator, who was in Kazaure for the turbaning ceremony of the new Galadiman Kazaure and District Head of Roni, was attacked by some angry youths and group of thugs outside the Emir’s palace, venue of the event.
The youths booed the Senator and his entourage after he attended the event.
Our correspondent learnt that the Senator and his convoy ran into trouble at the Emir’s palace when some APC youths booed him and shouted, ba mayi, ba mayi, meaning we hate you.
Musa Abdullah, APC Roni town said poor performance and failure to bring dividends of democracy to the door steps of the people in the area are some of the reasons for the attack.
Abdullahi added that since the Senator was elected, he has never constructed a project in the area.
All efforts to contact the Senator and his media managers on the issue proved abortive.
