Member representing Gudu/Tangaza Federal Constituency from Sokoto State at the House of Representatives, Hon. Yusuf Isa Kurdulla has commended Federal Government, under the leadership of President Muhammadu Buhari, for the construction of 46 kilometer Balle-Kurdullah-Niger Republic border road.
Kurdulla made the commendation while briefing newsmen on the N9.5 billion project.
He also on behalf of the people of his constituency thanked the former governor of the state, Senator Aliyu Magatakarda Wamakko, who started the project and now making all efforts to ensure the construction of the road by the Federal Government become a reality.
The lawmaker added that the former governor and now Senator representing Sokoto Central, through his effort, the construction company has already moved all the necessary facilities to the site.
He said the $26.2 million Balle-Kurdullah-Niger Republic border road, if completed, would serve as strategy to implement President Buhari’s administration Economic Recovery and Growth Plan to boost trade and economy, especially the international commercial activities between Nigeria and Niger Republic.
In a related development, Hon. Yusuf Isa Kurdulla, has urged the state government to hasten the reconstruction of Yaka-Bachaka-Niger Republic border road.
Kurdulla explained that the road is an important project to the communities of the two countries and it would strengthen the business and longtime good relationship existing between them and their traditional institutions.
