The Inspector General of Police, Alhaji Mohammed Adamu, has said that the police has resolved to work with Miyeti Allah to end problem of banditry in the Northwest zone.
Adamu, who spoke in Katsina State recently, said working with the association was part of strategy introduced to tackle insecurity problem.
“We need to re-strategise with other stakeholders, our cooperative partner, the Miyeti Allah and other security agencies so that every nook and cranny of the status are manned and not allow these criminals to operate,” Adamu stated.
The Triumph learnt that police authority resolved to work with the association as a result of its role in rescuing the abducted Kankara students.
It was gathered that national leadership of the association had agreed to work with security agents to bring peace to the region.
Adamu, who was in Katsina days after rescue of Kankara students from the hand of bandits, held a four-hour meeting with the leadership of the association and Senior Police Officers at Katsina police headquarters.
He said the recent abduction of students of Kankara would not repeat itself.
“It is unfortunate issue and we have resolved that we never allow such a thing to happen again in the state.
“I came to Katsina to see officers and men in order to re-strategise and make sure that we make Katsina a crime-free,” he assured.
