NUJ declares fasting, prayers for kidnapped member

The Nigeria Union of Journalists( NUJ) in Adamawa State has declared fasting and prayers for the release of its member, Mrs Amrah Ahmed Diska, who was kidnapped on Tuesday 4th May 2021.


Mrs.Diska,who is a News Editor with the Adamawa Broadcasting Corporation (ABC) Yola, is also a nursing mother.
A statement signed by Adamawa NUJ Secretary, Fidelis Jockthan said the abductors have contacted her family demanding ransom while the National Secretariat of NUJ has expressed worry over the incident.
“The entire Secretariat has been saddened over the development and all practicing journalists in Adamawa State and beyond have been implored to seek for divine intervention and safety of our colleague by fasting and praying for her immediate release.
Her 6months old baby is however, in stable condition,” the release said.
