The death has been announced of Hajiya Hadiza, the wife of late President, Alhaji Shehu Usmanu Aliyu Shagari, Turakin Sokoto. Hajiya Hadiza died yesterday at the age of 80.
A statement signed on behalf of the family by the Sarkin Marafan Shagari, Muhammad Bala Shagari (rtd Capt.), announced her demise yesterday.
“We regret to announce the demise of our beloved mother, Hajiya Hadiza Shehu Shagari, the wife of H.E late President Shehu Usman Aliyu Shagari, GCFR (Turakin Sokoto).
“We lost her in the early hours of August 12, 2021, at about 3:00am, at the Gwagwalada Hospital in Abuja,” the statement said. She has since buried according to Islamic rites.
May Almighty Allah grant her Jannatul Firdausi and give her family the fortitude to bear the loss with courage.
