Governor Dr. Abdullahi Umar Ganduje of Kano State has immediately after casting his vote expressed appreciation over the way voters conduct themselves at polling stations, saying that, “You can see how people came out, they are voting and the voting is peaceful.
“This shows the Local Government Election is accepted by the people in the state. This gives us confidence, especially that we don’t believe in appointing Caretaker Committees to manage the affairs of our local governments. We want elected officials to manage the affairs,” he said.
He explained that, “That is why we decided to hold this election. You can see that people are willing and are voting without any intimidation or harassment. They are voting the people they like.”
