KTSG settles examination fees with N357m

Katsina State Government has released N357 million for the settlement of WAEC and NABTEB examination fees.

The state Commissioner for Education, Associate Professor Badamasi Charanchi told newsmen that part of the money would be used to settle examination fees to National Board for Arabic and Islamic Studies.

Charanchi explained that the payment is part of N714 million to be paid as examination fees.

“We concluded arrangement to pay N357 million to three examination bodies, representing 50 per cent of the total examination fees,” the commissioner said.

He said the payment of the examination fees was for 62,000 students that sat for three examinations.

“We will continue to ensure regular payment of examination fees to our students that sit for external examinations,” said he.

He said that the government would pay the examination fees before the end of this month to NECO.

He stated: “We appeal to students that sat for NECO to exercise patience. Government will settle the examination fees this month.”
