KTSG bans animals, petrol sales in 14 LGAs

Katsina State Government has announced suspension for the sale of animals in 14 out of 34 local government area.


The affected Local Government include Jibia, Batsari, Safana, Danmusa, Kankia, Malumfashi, Chiranchi, Maiadue, Kefur, Faskari, Sabuwa, Baure, Dutsinma and Kaita.

The measure was part of effort to deal with activities of bandits and end insecurity problem facing the State.

In a two page Circular made available to newsmen and signed by the Governor Aminu Bello Masari further announced the banning on transportation of cattle trucks from Katsina to any other state in Nigeria.

The Circular titled “Katsina State Government of Nigeria Security Challenges (Containment) order” said Lorries/Trucks carrying firewood from the bush are totally banned.

It further announced the immediate closure of Kankara – Sheme road to all commercial vehicles and advised motorist to go through Funtua road.

The Circular further also announced closure of Jibia – Gurbin Baure road to all motorist, saying travelers plying the road are advised to go through Funtua road.

It also said government has banned sales of second hand motorcycles at famous Chiranchi Market and ban for sales of petrol in jerry cans at filling stations.

According to Circular, only two designed filling stations are allowed to sold petrol of not more than N5,000 to motorist in some affected local government areas.

The affected local government include Jibia, Batsari, Safana, Danmuse, Kankara and Faskari areas.

Other affected local government are Sabuwa, Dandume, Musawa, Matazu, Dutsin-ma, Kurfi, Danja, and Kafur.

The Circular announced reinforcement of the ban of the operation of commercial tricycles, and motorcycles from 10pm to 6am within Katsina areas and 6pm to 6am in the frontline local government.
