Kano State Commissioner of Women Affairs and Social Development, Dr. Zahra’u Muhammad Umar has reiterated the commitment of the state government towards protection of vulnerable members of the society especially women and children.
Dr. Zahra’u Muhammad Umar stated this while receiving International Federation of Women Lawyers (FIDA), Kano State Brach in her Office, recently.
According to a press statement issued by Bahijja Malam Kabara, the Public Relations Officer said the commissioner stressed that in line with this commitment the state government had already forwarded the Child Protection Bill to the State House of Assembly for passage into law for the well-being of women and children.
She then urged the visiting lawyers to continue supporting any move that will protect their rights.
In her remarks, Barr. Huwaila Ibrahim expressed appreciation over the efforts being made by the present administration in respect of the Child Protection Bill and Codes of Conduct for women.
She added that this effort would improve the living standard of the people of the state especially women and children.
She then thanked the Commissioner and that of Justice for their support and dedication.
