Kano State Government has restated its resolve to support the production of budget documentation in accordance with fiscal responsibility legislation and best practice in budget preparation.
The Secretary to the State Government, Alhaji Usman Alhaji made the statement at a three-day workshop on Economic and Fiscal Update, Fiscal Strategy Paper and Budget Policy Statement ( EFU, FSP & BPS 2022 to 2024) held in Kaduna State today.
Alhaji added that the workshop was organized to make the participants to be conversant with top down budget process within the Medium Term Expenditure Framework process related to the policy and strategic planning process, the bottom up budgeting process and the annual budget preparation.He expressed appreciation to the Ministry of Planning and Budget and development partners for their support toward organizing the workshop .
In his welcome address, the state Commissioner of Planning and Budget, Alhaji Nura Muhammad Dankadai assured that comprehensive training and sensitization on development of Medium Term Expenditure Framework for 2022 to 2024 would result in realistic budgeting in line with the requirements of Financial Management Law .
Alhaji Dankadai expressed the hope that the participants would actively participate in the deliberations for positive outcome.
Among the participants to the event are members of the state House of Assembly, Head of Civil Service, permanent secretaries, directors, academia and civil society organizations among other critical stakeholders as contained in a statement issued by Suleiman A. Dederi, the spokesman of the ministry.
