Kano State Government has banned indiscriminate outdoor advertising and pasting of posters on walls of public and private buildings in the state.
A statement issued by Sanusi Bature Dawakin Tofa, the Chief Press Secretary the state Governor Engr. Abba Kabir Yusuf and made available to The Triumph today warned public from the menace.
According to the statement “A task force will be set up to ensure compliance as the measure became necessary in the wake of rising defacing of walls and other public properties with political posters.
“Individuals and entities are mandated to use billboards and electronic means for poster display as part of the efforts to keep the state clean and beautiful.
“As directed by Governor Abba, officials of the Ministry of Environment and State Fire Service have been going round the streets in the metropolis to remove all posters (electoral and others).
“The first phase of the exercise commenced yesterday at Wudil Road, State Road, Ahmadu Bello Way, BUK Road and Ibrahim Taiwo Road,” Dawakin Tofa.
