KNSG approves over 500 health professional recruitment

*Doctors, Pharmacists inclusive

As part of his commitment towards taking the health sector to greater heights, he has given the approval for the recruitment of over 500 health professionals, including Doctors, Pharmacists, Laboratory Technicians, Laboratory Scientists and other allied health professionals.

This was disclosed by the Commissioner for Health, Kano state, Dr. Aminu Ibrahim Tsanyawa, at an occasion at Africa House, Government House, Kano, today, when Governor Dr. Abdullahi Umar Ganduje distributed certificates to graduates who, few days back came back from Sudan universities, when the state paid for them over 80 percent outstanding bills to the affected universities.

They are 103 in number, who graduated from Al-Ahfad University for Women, El-Razi University, Omdurman Islamic University and Sudan International University. Most of them were female graduates.

To the hearing of the governor and all those who were present during the occasion, Tsanyawa continued and appreciated that, “In his effort to see to continued progress of the health sector, governor Abdullahi Umar Ganduje has directed us to go round to all the 484 wards in the state and asses the state of being of their health facilities.”

After going round, Dr. Tsanyawa disclosed that, governor Ganduje also gave another approval for the employment of 1,500 other sets of health care workers, who would be posted to those 484 health care facilities.

In his brief remarks, governor appreciated that, the occasion was another graduation ceremony, as he was distributing Certificates to the graduates.

He added that, “Our population feels safe, especially for the fact that most of you who graduated from Sudan Universities are female. These means a lot, as far as our culture and religion are concerned. Women will feel more comfortable to be treated in hospital by their female folks.”

He assured them that the state would pay all other needed expenses in line with their professional demands, emphasising that, “We are not done with you till when we give you your appointment letters.”
