Bauchi State governor, Sen. Bala Abdulkadir Muhammad has condoled with former governor of the state, Alhaji Ahmad Adamu Mu’azu over the killing of his nephew by suspected terrorists.
Governor Muhammad, who expressed shock over the killing of Mu’azu Danladi and abduction of three family members in Boto, Tafawa Balewa Local Government Area of the state by the terrorists, said security remains the major priority of his administration.
While reiterating his administration’s commitment to collaborate with security agencies to eliminate criminals and their activities in the state, the governor expressed sadness over the unfortunate killing.
He said the state government would ensure perpetrators are fished out and dealt with to serve as deterrent to others.
Responding, Alhaji Mu’azu expressed gratitude to the governor for the condolence and prayed to Almighty Allah to reward him abundantly.
Mu’azu also commended the governor for his usual concern and commitment to fighting criminal activities, calling on stakeholders to support him for the development of the state.
Governor Muhammad was accompanied by top government officials and party leadership.
The Triumph reports that the state police command confirmed the killing of 25-year-old Mua’zu Danladi, a nephew to the former governor and the kidnap of three other family members in Boto country home of the former governor.
The Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO), SP Ahmad Wakil, said the attack was carried out recently.
He said the attackers shot sporadically to ward off any counter-attack before fleeing with the victims.
The police, he added, received a distress call that gunmen were invading Boto village, and the Commissioner of Police, Umar Sanda, ordered the Divisional Police Officer (DPO) in charge of Tafawa Balewa to ensure that the attackers were arrested.
It was reported that the kidnappers attacked the former governor’s village, believing that he was in his country home for the Sallah celebration.
Other family members abducted are Hajiya Asma’u Alhaji Adamu, the younger sister of the former governor; Malama Halima Abdullahi and one Nura.
