Katsina State Government in collaboration with the World Bank are to commence disbursement of over N18 billion as interest frees loan to business women, farmers and vulnerable people in the state.
The Special Adviser on Empowerment Programmes, Alhaji Abdulkadir Mamman Nasir disclosed this at a meeting with the members of Malumfashi Traders Association.
Mamman said over 270 certified companies and private organizations have so far applied for the loan to be verified for disbursement.
Mamman further said the state government promise to pay the interest of the loan on behalf of the beneficiaries.
He revealed that a business clinics would be established at strategic locations to assist business women on how best to develop their business.
The Special Adviser recalled that the state government disbursed N10 million to members of the traders association in each of the 34 local government area across the state.
He decries that the beneficiaries of the loan were yet to settle the loan given to them.
Mamman stressed that companies or organizations to benefit from the new loan must produce valid account numbers, BVN and certificates of collateral has a step obtain the loan.
He also said those wishing to obtain the loan must also produce Corporate Affairs Commission registration and receipts of three months payment of revenue from board of internal revenue among others.
According to him, 60 percent of the loan would be given to business women.
