Katsina Emirate Council has provided food items to over 2,000 displaced persons of bandits attack in Matazu Local Government Area.
The victims mostly women and children are currently taking refuge at the council Secretariat.
Emir of Katsina, Dr. Abdulmumini Kabir Usman who personally visited the victims said the food item include bags of millet and sorghum are provided to alleviate their suffering.
Emir Usman said the Emirate Council was disturbed with activities of bandits, kidnapping and killing of innocent people.
He explained that the Emirate is working with state government and security agents to overcome the problem.
“We have directed district, village and ward heads to be security conscious and report suspected criminals to security agents,” he stressed.
Usman further said the Emirate has directed them to form security committee and meet every week to renew security situation.
He called on victims to make good use of the food items provided to them and appealed to wealthy individuals to assist the victims.
He appealed to people of the state to assist in exposing information aiding banditry activities.
