Katsina conducts elections in peace

Presidential and National Assembly election in Katsina State was held peacefully across the 34 local government councils.

Our correspondent who monitored the election reports that there was large turnout of voters in most of the polling units.

Government areas of Malumfashi, Kafur, Kankara and Katsina due to late arrival of the election materials.

It further reports that the presence of officials of ICPC, EFCC and other security agents has minimize vote buying by politicians.

It was gathered that the officials of EFCC arrested some politicians in Katsina Local Government Area while distributing food item for vote buying.

In Safana report say, some criminals stole some BVAS Machines while in Sandamu voting was suspended as party agents disrupt progress.

Speaking with newsmen shortly after casting his vote at his polling unit, Governor of Katsina State, Alhaji Aminu Bello Masari commended INEC for adequate preparation for the smooth conduct of the election.

Masari called on Nigerians to conduct themselves peacefully and accept the outcome of the election for the interest of the nation.
