The All Progressives Congress (APC) in Katsina State has endorsed Alhaji Bola Ahmed Tinubu as its presidential candidate.

Our correspondent reports that the state is one of those with the highest number of delegates in the Northwest zone.

The endorsement of Tinubu by the party was unanimously adopted and agreed upon by all its stakeholders at a meeting presided over by Governor Aminu Bello Masari held at Government House, recently.

The meeting was also attended by the state deputy governor, Alhaji Mannir Yakubu, all members of the state House of Assembly, gubernatorial aspirants and other party stakeholders from 34 local government areas.

Speaking at the meeting, the chairman of the party, Alhaji Muhammad Sani Daura, said APC believes that Tinubu would take the country to the Promised Land. “We in Katsina APC and the delegates are out to ensure we assist you to achieve your long-term desire and ambition of ruling the country as President.

“We believe that, having you and continuing where President Buhari stopped will take the country to the promised land,” Alhaji Daura said. He further said: “Having supported our own son, President Buhari, wholeheartedly to become President of the country, it will be callous and ungrateful of us to not reciprocate that gesture.”

In his speech, Governor Masari said Tinubu possessed all the qualities to be elected as president.

Masari said Tinubu had built political bridges across the nation, adding that he performed well as Lagos State governor for eight years. Responding, Tinubu assured the people of the nation that he would not fail them if given the mandate as president.

Tinubu pledged to ensure the unity of the country, create employment opportunities for youth and tackle the insecurity problem.

He described himself as the best and most experienced person as well as a well connected politician, adding: “I am ready to serve Nigerians and bring positive development for the country.”
