Kano State deputy governor, Alhaji Nasiru Yusuf Gawuna has commended members of the women’s wing of the All Progressives Congress (APC) for their contribution to the development of the state.

He made the statement while receiving the state APC Women Leader, Hajiya Fatima Abdullahi Dala, who led a delegation of women leaders and other stalwarts of the party across the 44 local government areas to pay him a congratulatory visit over his emergence as the flag bearer of the party in the state.

He said he believes women, known for their loyalty, straightforwardness, dedication and commitment, would support the party to victory during the general elections. Gawuna enjoined them, as mothers and vanguards of development, to continue to instill good moral values and character to children through moulding them in order to have a strong and better society.

He further explained that women in the state had been given recognition as the administration of Governor Abdullahi Umar Ganduje is conscious of their role, capacity, contribution and welfare.

He also thanked them for the visit, assuring them of continued support towards the success of the party.

Earlier, the state APC Women Leader, Hajiya Fatima Dala said the purpose of the visit was to congratulate the deputy governor for winning the gubernatorial primary election. She said his emergence as the candidate has added value and confidence to the party, describing him as a man with political clout and pedigree.

“I want to assure you that we, the women in APC, will go to all nooks and crannies of the state to pray and campaign for your victory at the polls,” she stated. In attendance during the occasion were the Commissioner for Higher Education, Dr. Mariya Bunkure; Special Adviser on Political Affairs to the Governor, Alhaji Mustapha Buhari Bakwana; the State APC Treasurer, Hajiya ‘Yardada Maikano; APC Kano Municipal House of Representatives candidate, Alhaji Muktar Ishak and other senior government officials.
