The presidential/ perliamentary elections in Kano North Senatorial Zone has recorded large turn out of voters who besieged many polling centres to cast their votes.
Our correspondents report that the elections also recorded mass turn-out with female voters taking nearly 60 per cent of the exercise.
It went peacefully and orderly.
Their first leg took them to Tofa Local Government Area at about 9:00am where they saw a number of voters waiting for INEC materials, which faced delay of arrival at initial stage, but later the materials arrived at 11:00am.
Shortly after the arrival of the materials, voting exercise started peacefully and was hitch-free.
Aso, party agents were seen interacting with eace other and even mocking for joy.
At Yarimawa polling unit, Santar Dan kaka in Tofa Local Government Area before the arrival of the materials.
One of the agents of a political party started querreling with the incumbent chaiman of the local government council over the delay of the arrival of the materials.
But before they went further, the material arrived and the exercise commenced.
At Jobe polling unit, voters, both males and females converged there as early as 9:00am waiting for the arrival of the election materials for them to exercise their civic right, where they did the needful peacefully and orderly without witnessing any rancour.
Exchanging view with our men, the member representing Rimin-Gado, Tofa & Dawakin Tofa at House of Representatives, Hon. Tijjani Abdulkadir Joe, expressed optimism that he would sweep the election for the fifth time of representing the constituency.
He added that at initial stage, there were moves to rig the election, but later things went well and hitch-free.
He also alleged that, there were certain elements, who were caught tearing the ballot papers before casting the votes commenced but later, the authority concerned redressed the ugly situation.
Similar reports were recorded in Rimin-Gado, Gwarzo, Shannon, Bichi, Bagwai, Tsanyawa, Kunchi and Kabo Local Government Areas, as voters conducted themselves in orderly manner with females taking the lion share nearly in all the afforementioned places.
Interacting with The Triumph in Kabo Town, Kwari polling unit with No. 009, the Senator representing Kano North, Hon. Barau Jibrin, made it clear that, the election was the most peacefull ever seen by him since the inception of democracy of the Fouth Republic, saying that, he would win with landslide victory, Godwilling, considering the fact that, the voters turn-out en-masse chanting his name all over, saying ‘Maliyan Kanawa, sai Maliya.’
Our reporters winded up the coverage at Ganduje Town in Dawakin Tofa Local Government Area, where the story was the same as the voters turned out en-masse both males and females to exercise their civic responsibility.
