Kano Emir hails organization for its empowerment

The Emir of Kano, Alhaji Aminu Ado Bayero has hailed Five Cowries for training children and empowering women on skill acquisition. 

Alhaji Bayero made the commendation while presenting certificates to 29 trainees under the scheme at his palace. 

He said the initiative is a welcome development, which would go a long way in augmenting government effort in its development initiatives in the society.

He charged the trainees to train others in order to promote national development. 

Speaking at the occasion, the wife of the state governor, Prof. Hafsat Abdullahi Umar Ganduje, said the initiative was part of government effort in assisting children and women in education.

She assured that government would do everything possible to ensure that children are enrolled in schools. 

The chairperson of Dangote Foundation, Hajiya Juwairiyya Yusuf, said the programme was part of move to complement government effort in reducing the burden of parents over their responsibilities on the education of their children, especially those at the grassroots. 

In another development, the Emir has received his counterpart of Kontagora in Niger State, Alhaji Muhammad Barau Muazu at his palace. 

The Emir hoped that the relationship between the two Emirates would continue to wax stronger.
