Kano State House of Assembly has reiterated its stand toward ensuring speedy passage of Kano State Child Protection Bill 2021 for the betterment of the children in the state.
Speaker, Engr. Hamisu Ibrahim Chidari disclosed this during the closing ceremony of a three day retreat for the review of the bill held in Kaduna State.
This was contained in a press statement issued and signed by Uba Abdullahi, the Director Press of the House and made available to The Triumph today.
According to the release, Chidari said considering the importance of the bill to the overall development of the State,the House in collaboration with donor agency ROLAC and UNICEF held the retreat were the bill was scrutinized word by word and page by page to make it in accordance with the with the norms values and culture of the people in the state as well as tp reflect the position of Sharia Legal System on each and every section of the bill.
In her closing remarks, the state Commissioner of Ministry of Women Affairs and Social development, Dr. Zahra’u Umar Muhammad said when the bill is passed into kaw it would bring succor to the lives of the children in the state and thanked the lawmakers for the review.
She then appreciated the state government as well as the donor agencies agencies for their concerns to the welfare of the children in the state.
