Gaya Emirate appoints 3 new Imams, deputies

The Emir of Gaya, Alhaji Ibrahim Abdulkadir has approved the appointment of three new Chief Imams and their deputies.

They are the Chief Imam of Dorinawa, in Wasarde Village of Gabasawa Local Government Area, Malam Rabiu Abdulkarim and his deputy, Abdulmuminu Idris; Chief Imam of Kwasangwami in Gezawa, Malam Rabiu Auwalu Nuhu and that of Gaya Children’s Home, Imam Sanusi Abbas and to be deputised by Bashir Yusuf.

Speaking on behalf of the Emir, the chairman of the Emirate Council Committee on Religious Affairs, Malam Kabiru Muhammad Shagogo, advised them to continue preaching peace in the Emirate according to the teaching of Prophet Muhammad, peace be upon him.

He warned them to avoid religious sentiments and cooperate with the Emirate’s efforts towards promoting unity and understanding among Muslim Ummah.

The Emir therefore urged the wealthy individuals in the Emirates to use the fasting period in assisting the less-privileged towards reducing hardship among them.

Meanwhile, the Emirate has received the state committee on suspected food poisoning outbreak response.

The committee headed by Pharm. Isham was in the area to educate and enlighten the people on the dangers of the suspected food poisoning circulating within the markets especially in the present period of Ramadan.
