Kano State deputy governor, Alhaji Nasiru Yusuf Gawuna has revalidated his membership of the All Progressives Congress (APC) at his Gawuna Ward in Nassarawa Local Government Area of the state.

The deputy governor, accompanied by his wife, Hajiya Hafsat Nasiru Gawuna and the Senator representing Kano Central Senatorial District, Malam Ibrahim Shekarau among other dignitaries, stated that: “…APC as a party opens its doors for everyone to register for …its… development and growth.”

He however stated that since President Muhammadu Buhari and Governor Abdullahi Umar Ganduje flagged-off the registration and revalidation exercise at the national and state levels respectively, it is now the responsibility bestowed by the national leadership of the party mandating all to register and revalidate their membership for it to know its members.

Gawuna also enjoined the stakeholders of the party to ensure that old and new members who have attained 18 years of age have joined it so as to increase its supporters in the state.

He pointed out that the party in the state needs to consolidate on its victory in the 2019 election in which it won the governorship election, all the National Assembly positions and majority of state assembly seats, by drawing more to register in the exercise.

“I am confident with the way people of Kano State are aware of the laudable achievements made by Ganduje administration in the area of provision of dividends of democracy, Kano will emerge first in the registration exercise,” he said.

Speaking earlier, Senator Shekarau had said that since  people are the backbone of any political party, they should endeavour to come out and register. In his remarks, the chairman of the party in the area, Alhaji Yakubu Ado, told the gathering that the registration exercise was crucial for the party to know its strength.
