About Five people have been killed while two others missing after flood wrecked Potiskum Local Government Area of Yobe State
Malam Hassan said, “We are at the moment grieving because an infant in my neighbourhood lost his life as a building collapsed on him.
According to our Correspondence the Flood Occurred, following a heavy downpour on Sunday night, and destroyed several buildings in many parts of the commercial town.
A resident, Malam Hassan Driver, told to our correspondent that many buildings around Nahuta, and some parts of Arikime Wards have collapsed on that day.
“We pray for God’s intervention and seeking support from government at all levels.”
The Executive Secretary of Yobe State Emergency Management Agency (SEMA), Dr Mohammed Goje, confirmed the incident.
He said SEMA Search and Rescue Team were in Potiskum conducting assessment and helping the affected communities to search the missing persons.
When contacted, the Executive Chairman of Potiskum Local Government Area, Salisu Muktari, said he was on transit to Potiskum town.
He added that he has directed his vice to liaise with necessary agencies to support the affected communities in the town
