Kano State governor, Dr. Abdullahi Umar Ganduje has said that the attributes of pedigree, vision and astuteness, the Ekiti State governor, Dr. Kayode Fayemi possessed, prepared him to handle any leadership position in the country.
“Your antecedents are fantastic because you are among those that make one to be proud to be in All Progressives Congress (APC),” he said.
He stated this during a consultation visit to Kano by APC Presidential Aspirant and Chairman Nigeria’s Governor’s Forum to engage with the delegates at the Government House yesterday.
Represented by his deputy, Alhaji Nasiru Yusuf Gawuna, the governor added that the APC in the state would not forget the contribution, solidarity and support given by Dr. Fayemi to ensure its victory during the rerun election in 2019.
“You are the only governor that came to identify with us during the rerun election. We are still very grateful,” he noted. The governor further said: “We wish all the best and success during the presidential primaries of our party.”
Earlier, Dr. Fayemi said he was in the state to solicit for support and engage with the party leaders and delegates, saying: “Kano is APC and APC is Kano.” He added: “I am a founding member of the APC who has served in different capacities.
Therefore, I came to you with requisite experience. “I am here to talk to you about my vision for a new Nigeria so that you could place me on the scale of people that you understand have mission for development therefore I urge you to join hands with me in tackling the challenges bedeviling the country,” Fayemi said.
