Drop presidential ambition, Bauchi ALGON urges Atiku

From Sule Aliyu, Bauchi

The Secretary of Bauchi State chapter of the Association of Local Governments of Nigeria (ALGON), Hon. Usman Muhammad Salah has counseled former Vice President, Alhaji Atiku Abubakar to step aside for younger Nigerians to take the centre stage in the nation.

The secretary, who gave the advice, said any person who attained the age of 70 to 80 could be said to be out of focus and has his/her thinking moving retrogressively.

Salah, who opined that the presidential slot under the PDP should in 2023 be zoned to the North, claimed that Governor Bala Abdulkadir Muhammad is the best and credible material for the nation’s presidency.

He told the press in Bauchi on Monday that Governor Muhammad, based upon his pedigree as a Senator, Minister, governor and above all as a versatile federal civil servant, who rose from grade level 08 to 17 in the service, could be adjudged as the most suitable to assume the mantle of leadership of the country.

“Even among the three presidential aspirants up North under the PDP, Bala Abdulkadir Muhammad, Abubakar Bukola Saraki and Aminu Waziri Aminu Tambuwal, the most suitable, pragmatic and deliverable is Governor Bala Muhammad,” Saleh said.
