Governor Abubakar Atiku Bagudu of Kebbi State has queried the Commissioners for Basic Education, Alhaji Muhammadu Magawata Aliero and Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs, Alhaji Hassan Muhammad Shallah over the delay for the payment of October salary for primary school teachers in the state.
The governor warned that he would not condone laxity or delay in the payment of salary to primary school teachers in the state, saying that he would not take it lightly with any government officials for negative attitude to work.
Consequently, Senator Bagudu ordered the immediate payment of salary to all teachers throughout the state without further delay.
The governor, who was at Jega Unity Primary School recently received complaints from primary school teachers who told him that they have not been paid their October salary.
Bagudu, who entered some of the classrooms where weekend lessons were ongoing, expressed satisfaction about the performance of both teachers and students in the school
