The Coalition of United Political Particles (CUPP) has called on the impeachment of President Muhammadu Buhari.
The group also called on opposition lawmakers at the National Assembly to work in alliance with patriotic members who are in APC to commence action and impeach the President of the Senate, Senator Ahmad Lawal and Speaker of the House of Representatives Mr. Femi Gbajabiamila immediately without delay.
The CUPP alleged that both leaders of the chambers of the National Assembly have failed to guide their colleagues to act as checks and balances on the executive, saying that several times members of the executive ignored them even when they are officially summoned by them.
“Lawmakers are no longer respected and are ignored even when the officially summon officials of the executive because they are daily moving form office to office begging, blackmailing and grabbing anything and everything,” the group further alleged. Speaking on behalf of the group to newsmen at the opposition House in Abuja recently, the spokesperson of the CUPP, Mr. Ikenga Imo Ugochinyere, said President Buhari had abused his office.
According to Ugochinyere, life is now so cheap in Nigeria that our leaders do not even show sympathy any more whereby people are becoming unfeeling since wanton killings have become the order of the day, adding that every new death is taken for granted.
To actualize this goal, he said, the coalition has called on opposition lawmakers to alliance with patriotic members who are imprisoned in the APC and seeking liberation to commence action and impeach the Senate President and the Speaker of the House.
He further explained that the group had also filed a suit at the federal High Court seeking an order of mandamus to compel the National Assembly to perform its constitutional duty.
He also noted that some APC members are genuinely concerned with the current state of the nation and they would like to join in the impeachment moves
