Federal Government has distributed about N8 billion to vulnerable households in Katsina State under its Cash Transfer Programme (CCT)
The state coordinator of CCT in Katsina Shafiu Abdullahi Zango revealed this during a flag off of the recommencement of the payment to household at Batagarawa Local Government Area.
Zango explained that the programme is impacting positively on vulnerable household from 12 local government areas of the state.
He listed the local government as: Batagarawa, Rimi, Dan- Musa, Baure, Ingawa, Bindawa, Mani Dandume, Bakori, Musawa and Kankara.
Zango explained that the CTP was meant to minimize poverty among families through setting up of small scale business.
He said due to delay so far by the programme, his office has made adequate arrangement to pay beneficiaries accumulated amount for the period of one year.
Zango said six month arrears will be paid to beneficiaries under first batch while payment for the second batch will soon commence.
Earlier, Special Adviser on Empowerment and Special Intervention Programme in the State, Abdulkadir Mamman Nasir Commended federal government for introducing various programmes to minimize poverty among Nigerians
Nasir noted that such such programmes would no doubt enhance the well being of beneficiaries.
