Cross River NMA debunks rumour of colleague’s death

The Nigeria Medical Association (NMA) Cro Ekanem Ephraim has died in the hand of her abductors.


In a communique by The state chapter NMA chairman, Dr. Felix Archibong and the secretary, Dr. Amaku Etim, signed and issued to our correspomdent in Calabar shortly after the rose in a meeting recently, the association debunked the rumour.
It said: “It is worthy of note that within their untold hardship on the families and members of NMA CRS vis-a-vis disruption of the practice of medicine in our once very serene Cross River State which was tagged ‘Destination for leisure and hospitality’ and worried about the rumour of Dr. Ephraim, which has been spread, the medical doctors said that their renowned, erudite professor of neurology has been released alive. It said: “That she is still in captivity, but still alive.

The analysis of the last scenario undoubtedly has brought enormous trauma and emotional destabilization to the family and members of NMA-CRS at large.
The doctors, as a matter of urgency, called on the state and Federal Governments to espediate action towards securing release of Dr. Ephraim Ekanem as they passed vote of no confidence on the security agencies of the state.
