Community participation has been described as one of the best ways to support and improve the standard of education in Kano State.
The observation was made by the state Commissioner of Information, Malam Muhammad Garba while receiving School Based Management Committee (SBMC) and Parents Teachers Association (PTA) of Government Girls Senior Secondary School Shekara in his office, yesterday.
The commissioner explained that community involvement in meaningful activities and developmental projects in the education sector will also aid teaching and learning process in public schools.
A statement issued and signed by Sani Abba Yola, the Director Special Duties quoted him saying
“Getting involved in local public education is a good way to have a long lasting impact on the academic success of the students.”
Malam Garba urged individuals and corporate bodies to compliment the state government’s policy of free and compulsory education by contributing their quota in the sector.
Earlier, the Director, Government Girls Senior Secondary School Shekara, Hajiya Zainab Ado Ma’aji had said that they were in his office to appreciate him for the rehabilitation of solar system and borehole in the school.
In their separate remarks, Ward Head of Yakasai B, Alhaji Habibu Dauda Yakasai and the Imam of Yakasai, Khalifa Malam Sunusi Bamalli, thanked the commissioner for his tremendous contributions to the school and Yakasai community.
