Governor Mai Mala Buni of Yobe State has flagged-off the distribution of empowerment materials under the Zonal Intervention Project sponsored by the Senator representing Yobe East Senatorial District and Chairman Senate Committee on Basic and Secondary Education, Sen. Ibrahim Gaidam.
The governor launched the scheme recently at Damaturu stadium.
Items distributed included 213 sewing, 136 embroidery machines, 136 tricycles, 50 deep freezers, 134 snow seat deep freezers, 50 200watts stabilizers, 49 grinding machines, 30 wall dryers, 330 hand dryers, 189 hair dryers, 188 hair straightener, 330 saloon chairs, 217 electric drills and 982 plastic desk lockers and chairs.
Other items included bundles of assorted backs, drawers and cabinet set, computers, printers, irrigation water pumps, tractors, wheelbarrows and exercise books respectively.
The items were billed to be shared throughout the constituency of the Senator which is made up of Damaturu, Gujba, Gulani, Tarmuwa, Yunusari, Geidam, and Bursari Local Government Areas.
