The APC Caretaker/Extraordinary Convention Planning Committee (CECPC) under the chairman of the Governor of Yobe State, Alhaji Mai Mala Buni, has observed that within the period of one year when it took over the affairs of the party, it has successfully delivered stronger and more democratically robust achievements to the success of the party.

Briefing newsmen in Abuja recently on the achievements recorded over the last one year on behalf of the committee, the former member, House of Representatives in Edo State, Hon. Patrick Obahiogbon said that just recently the members of the committee have conducted congresses in local governments across the country.

He stressed that before the committee came on board, there was an inherited liability of unpaid legal fees to the tune of N340, 000, 000 leading to occasional garnishing of the party account.

The CECPC he said subsequently invited all the legal firms who were involved in the matters and negotiated and brought down the fees to N179, 000, 000 which is now fully paid.

Hon. Obahiogbon further explained that when the committee came on board, the building currently housing the party National secretariat was on a lease.

The previous National Executive Committee of the party, he said, had approved the purchase of the property at the cost of N2, 500, 000 out of which, initial payment of N115, 000, 000 was made.

He said the committee has concluded payment of the outstanding balance and has taken over the ownership of the building and has approved the naming of the secretariat ‘Buhari House’ in honour of the meritorious service of Mr. President to both the party and the country.

On the resolution of conflicts that has been the bane of their party for a long period, he said, the committee has brought all aggrieved party members back into the fold.
