Speaker, Kano State House of Assembly, Engr. Hamisu Ibrahim Chidari win the ticket to contest for the House of Representatives Dambatta/Makoda Federal Constituency under the platform of All Progressives Congress (APC) during the party primaries held at Dambatta Local Government Secretariat under the supervision of the it representatives led by Hon. Aminu Sani.
During the primaries, Chidari who was unopposed emerged winner with a heavy victory.
Announcing the result, Returning Officer, Aminu Sani said in Makoda Local Government Area, the Speaker got 51 votes while Dambatta scored 47, revealing that Engr. Chidari polled 98 votes out of 150.
The Returning Officer declared speaker as a winner of Dambatta/Makoda Federal Constituency.
In his acceptance speech, Speaker Chidari thanked the delegates from the constituency as well as the state party representatives for conducting a credible primary election and all the stakeholders of APC in these areas for their confidence repose on him, pointing out that he would surely do his best in developing the areas.
Immediately after the election, electorate in the area staged a peaceful rally to show their appreciation over the speaker’s victory.
When contacted, some of them from different political wards of the constituency expressed their gratitude for having Speaker Chidari as their candidate, stating that as a person who is always apt and doing in promoting the area need to be reciprocated with constituents votes to allow him move to the National Assembly for more developmental projects.
