Sen. Aishatu Dahiru Ahmad Biñani was allegedly banned from using public facilities for the empowering and distribution of N20,000 to over 1, 000 women in Adamawa State.
The empowerment is in compliance with the Federal Government Cash Grant Program for women and vulnerable facilitated by the Senator.
The coordinator for her empowerment programme, Safwan Abdallah revealed this during the payment at Women Development Center Yola, the venue of the exercise before they were told to stop.
Abdallah said, the program was aimed at empowering over 1,000 women and vulnerable in every nook and cranny of the 21 local government areas of the state.
According to him, the empowerment was facilitated by the Senator to improve people’s living standard socially and economically for self reliance.
He expressed dissatisfaction over the conduct of the government for locking the venue of the program.
He looked at the action as intended to sabotage the efforts of the Senator for making women and vulnerable to be self-reliant.
Abdallah accordingly assured the general public and the beneficiaries of continued support and assistance of the Senator.
In a response, the Chief Press Secretary to the state governor, Mr. Humwashi Wunosikau said: “As a government of the people, we have no time to condemn so low to deprive anything empowerment to the people of Adamawa and more over the said Women Development Center is not under Government House.
