The Acting Governor of Nasarawa State, Dr. Emmanuel Akabe has refused to attend inauguration of the state APC caretaker committee which was held at the state Ministry for Local Government, Community Development and Chieftaincy Affairs.
The Triumph observed that other prominent members of the party that refused to attend the occasion included members of the state Executive Council, Special Advisers and Senior Special Assistants to the state governor.
Others included Senators Umaru Tanko Al Makura, Godiya Akwashiki, Minister of State Science and Technology, Barr. Muhammad Abdullahi; Hon. Ahmed Aliyu Wadada and Alhaji Musa Maikaya.
Our correspondent observed that all members of the House of Representatives from the state were absent at the event.
In his speech, Senator Abdullahi Adamu, representing Western Senatorial District, appealed to all members to continue to support APC come 2023 general elections.
He showered encomiums on youths in the state for not engaging in the recent ENDSARS protest which claimed many lives and property across the country.
On his part, the state chairman of APC Caretaker Committee, Dr. John Mamman, commended President Muhammadu Buhari as well as Governor Abdullahi Sule for finding them capable to oversee the affairs of the party in the state.
“We cannot achieve this task alone but with your support and cooperation, we will reach the promise land,” Mamam said. The state Caretaker Committee secretary, Aliyu Bello, expressed dismay on all elected and appointed officeholders for not attending the event.
