Abducted Plateau monarch released

The Sum Pyem Paramount ruler of Pyem Chiefdom in Gindiri of Mangu Local Government Area of Plateau State, Charles Mato Dakat who was abducted five days ago has been released.

Our Correspondent reliable gathered that, the monarch was released at the early hours of today,Friday“We thank God Almighty that our paramount ruler is now released and is in good condition.

Meanwhile the Police Public Relation Officer (PPRO) Ubah Gabriel Ogaba confirmed his release from the Kidnappers,said he was released at the early hours of today and he is in good health and has since be reunited with his family.

Our Correspondent also gathered that, immediately after his released he was taken to a hospital, not that he was in a bad condition but it’s the normal check up which is necessary after being outside his home for days.

Also gathered that, he was not maltreated by the abductors,he was on medication and his abductors ensured he constantly took his drugs, the abductors was kind enough to got him fresh drugs as he couldn’t carry along his drugs with him.

On whether ransom was paid before his release, the source said “this cannot be rule out but for me, this is not important. Whether ransom is paid or not does not necessarily matter now.

“What matters at the moment is that our paramount ruler is now released and we give God the glory”, he said.

Our report that,the traditional ruler was abducted in his palace at about 1am on Sunday, December 26, 2021 to unknown destination by gun men suspected to be bandits,and

nothing was heard about the monarch until two days after when the abductors called and demanded for the sum of N500million in ransom,and come down to N60 million.

Our Correspondent gathered that,thereafter, negotiations went on between the traditional council and the abductors until his release was secured.
