- Invites chairmen for defense

Kano State House of Assembly has received 2022 Estimates of the state 44 local government councils worth N229,535,321,657. 08 billion for approval.
Announcing the receipt of the budget proposal during the House session yesterday, Speaker, Engr. Hamisu Ibrahim Chidari said the estimates was contained in a letter signed by the state Commissioner for Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs, Alhaji Murtala Sule Garo.
The speaker said the estimate was in compliance with Section 69 Sub section 1c of Kano Local Government Law of 2006 which seek kind consideration and approval of the House.
He added that the letter further informed the lawmakers that adequate provision was inserted in the estimate to cater for the need and aspirations of the people as well as the state government’s policies, programmes and projects.
According to the budget, 32.72 percent is for current expenditure, over head cost to gulf 16.95 percent and capital expenditure is 49.33 percent.
Speaker Chidare then handed over the documents to the House Committee on Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs and that of Appropriation Committee for scrutiny, revealing that the adhoc committee was given eight days within which to submit report to the House.
Meanwhile, the House has invited the chairmen of the 44 local government councils to appear before the lawmakers and depend their budget in the six designated adhoc committees.
Similarly, the House has received a letter of commendation from the people of Bagwai Local Government Area over the tragedy of boat mishap.
They prayed to Allah to rewards all those who came to their aids during tragedy and to reward them abundantly.
