.3m PDP/APC members to join NNPP in Jigawa

There were strong indications that over 300,000 aggrieved members of the All Progressives Congress (APC) and those of the opposition Peo­ples Democratic Party (PDP) and other political parties have indicated their inter­est to join the New Nigeria Peoples’ Party (NNPP) in Jigawa State

This was disclosed to newsmen by the state chairman of the party, Hon. Gambo Ibrahim Alawo in Dutse on Wednesday in the evening shortly after the executive council meeting of the party in the state.

“I wish to brief you members of the press about the new development in our great party, NNPP where many supporters of APC, PDP and other political parties who want to join our party due to certain circumstances bedeviling their parties in Jigawa State,” he said.

He advised those who decided to de­fect from their parties to follow due pro­cess of joining the new party, saying that they should first and foremost go to their wards and obtain membership cards.

Hon. Alawo stated further that very soon the party would organize a great cer­emony to welcome and formally receive the new members into NNPP, adding that this may not be unconnected with the way the party was waxing stronger.

He maintained that the NNPP was a very strong party which he noted has par­ticipated in the 2015 and 2019 general elections and scored appreciable number of votes.

He warned that there were no automat­ic tickets for those who aspire to contest position, but assured all members of the party that there would justice, fairness, equity and democratic trend in the party.

“Nigerians are looking for us and we too we are looking for them to join our party to collectively save Nigeria from its present state of affairs,” he pointed out.

He further explained that APC and PDP have failed Nigeria woefully in terms of democratic governance, economically, security wise and socially, stating that Ni­gerians were looking for alternative party, which is the NNPP.
