Adamawa State governor, Alhaji Ahmadu Umaru Finriri, has said that he has the confident that former Vice President Atiku Abubakar will emerge as the president if given the flag of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) come 2023 general elections.
Governor Fintiri disclosed this during an interview with members of the correspondent chapel at the Yola Airport, recently. He said the former Vice President stood the chance of winning the presidential election if given the mandate by the party as already machineries are put in place.
He said: “Politics is a game of numbers and whether you are aspiring for the lowest or the highest position.”
“We have all the provision for our leader who was trusted and tested for the president since a onetime Vice President during his days in Nigeria.
“We have started the scheming, working and canvassing for support, as soon as all concluded we’ll see him clinch the flag bearer of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP),” he added.
He maintained that Atiku is seen as uniting the country. After contesting with President Buhari on the platform of the PDP in 2019, Atiku recently declared his intention to run for the office of the presidency
