Yobe trains health workers on clinical skills

Yobe State Ministry of Health and Human Services, through the Saving One Million Lives Programme for Results (SOMLPfR), has partnered with London Professional Training Center (LPTC) in collaboration with International Health Organization (IHO) for the a three-week training on professional clinical skills for regulators, managers and focal persons in the state as part of its bid to strengthen the capacity of its workers.

In his opening remarks, the Programme Manager, SOMLPfR, Dr. Babagana Abba said that the group partnered to build capacity of the state health workers in order to improve their performance and service delivery in line with the international standard.

The manager commended the state Ministry of Health and Human Services for the initiative, which according to him, will go along way in improving the health status of the citizens, thus making the state ahead of its contemporaries.

Reading the objectives of the training, the LPTC representative, Mrs. Nkiru Nwafor, said that earlier the institute gave the need analysis report on the health situation in the state after the initial training for the health workers on the usage of modern hospital equipment.
