Conference of Speakers of the state Houses of Assemblies has been described as a platform where issues of democratic development across the nation are crystalized for the betterment of the nation.
Speaker of Kano State House of Assembly, Engr. Hamisu Ibrahim Chidari disclosed this while fielding questions from Journalists at the side of the conference held in Bauchi State, recently.
According to a statement issued by Uba Abdullahi,the Diirector Press,
Kano State House of Assembly, said, Speaker Chidari maintained that the conference has come at a right time, pointing out that as Legislators they have enormous task, duties and responsibilities bestow on them by the Constitution to ensure adherence to good governance.
Speaker revealed that Governor Dr Abdullahi Umar Ganduje has a concern and respect to the Honourable House, pointing out that the state government always the lawmakers on all matters related to the State development.
In his address the Chairman of the Conference of Speakers who is also the Speaker, Bauchi State House of Assembly, Abubakar Y. Suleiman said the conference was aimed at cementing a cordial working relations among the members as well as to fine-tune ways of democratic development in the nation.
He thanks the members for attending the conference and assured them that the conference would do everything thing possible towards making the nation a role model among other countries.
During the technical sessions series of papers were presented which includes;Roles of State House of Assemblies in Constitutional Amendment Process, Issues and Prospects by Dr. Shuaibu Dan Wanka, Leadership and Conflict Management by Dr. Lanre Adebayo, Mechanism for Effective Implementation of Financial Autonomy for State Legislators by Mr. John Motu among others.
