Kano State Council of the Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ) has felicitated with Muslims on the completion of this year’s Ramadan fast.
According to a statement from Chairman and Secretary of the union, Comrade Abbas Ibrahim and Abba Murtala respectively, many of the mass celebration of Eid-el-Fitr will once more be curtailed by restrictions around the Covid-19 pandemic. According to the release, however, some traditions would endure, saying: “Let’s all join hands to thank Allah for the wonderful day and celebrate with one another.”
The council urged Muslims to use this period and pray for the general wellbeing of the people, especially on the rising insecurity and economic challenges.
It also extended its felicitation to Governor Abdullahi Umar Ganduje of the state, the Emirate councils, politicians, business community and entire Muslim Ummah.
The council hoped that members would continue to work towards sustenance of peace, stability and progress of the state in particular and the nation in general.
